Composite Filling After Care Instructions

Numbness Precaution

Your lips, teeth, and tongue may be numb for several hours after the filling due to the anesthetic used. Please refrain from chewing during this period to prevent accidentally biting your cheek, lip, or tongue.

Pain Management

Over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Motrin, or Advil may be taken as directed by the manufacturer to address any tenderness or discomfort.

Sensitivity Expectations

Temporary sensitivity to heat and cold may occur for several weeks following the procedure, though symptoms typically diminish within a few days.

Filling Hardness

The fillings are hardened before you leave the office, so you can resume normal activities immediately.

Oral Hygiene

You may continue regular brushing and flossing without restrictions following the filling placement.

If you experience persistent pain or sensitivity beyond a couple of weeks, please contact our office at (702) 212-6641.
