Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from our patients.

Is It Really Necessary to Get Teeth Cleanings / Dental Checkups So Often?
Yes. Plaque can build up regardless of how great your dental home care is. Regular visits help detect problems you may not know about until it's too late. You should visit the dentist at least twice a year.
What Exactly Is a Veneer?
Veneers are thin shells of porcelain or a resin material, which are bonded to the front of the teeth. The procedure requires little or no anesthesia and is an ideal choice for improving the appearance of your teeth — masking discoloration, making teeth appear whiter, and more.
What Is a Root Canal?
Root canals treat teeth that are damaged internally — from a chip, break, poor filling, or simply aging. If there is an infection, your dentist may recommend antibiotics before treatment. A dental x-ray is taken, the tooth is numbed, and the nerve and infected tissue are removed through a small hole. The tooth is dried and sealed, then closed with a permanent or temporary filling — or a crown, to prevent future cracking.
